Chinese Year of the Fire Horse: 17th February 2026

The Fire Horse is said to be bold and adventurous.

The endurance of the horse combined with the passion and vitality of Fire.

The Horse brings the opportunity of luck and calls us to dispel what we have outgrown.

According to the myth, the Chinese zodiac animals were chosen in a competition, a race across a river.

The Jade Emperor announced that the first twelve animals to cross would have a year named in their honour.

The twelve animals would rule for a year in turn.

Their characteristics would change according to the element associated with that year, either Metal, Water, Wood, Fire or Earth.

In keeping with the spirit of competition, post, in two sentences, how you related to your Chinese animal.

The ‘most auspicious’ will be selected by witches at SpellBox to receive a prize!

The prize will include Danae Moon’s book, Becoming the Witch, a Spell for a New Beginning and a 30-minute reading with Danae Moon (either in person or by phone).

Prize winner will be announced at the next full moon.
